Name: John Allerdyce
Door: Door Pass

Canon: XMCU
Canon Point: post X3

Age: 20
Appearance: A blond haired punk

History: Pyro
Personality:

With coming from a dysfunctional home life, John is a bit of a troubled youth to put it mildly. A mutant with an ability to manipulate (not create) fire, his personality matches the very thing he can control, which is to say, he's a bit of a fiery punk. He carries with him a disdain for those who have stable and loving relationships with their families and seeing such closeness can actually annoy him to the point of needling one with sarcastic remarks, much as he'd often do to Bobby/Iceman. The love and support that one gets from growing up in a family like that is a foreign concept to him and something he was robbed of, unfortunately, which led him to always looking out for himself and only himself a lot of the time.

This teeters him on being selfish at times, caring about his own safety and getting what he needs or wants and too bad so sad for everyone else. He was ready to leave behind Logan when the school became under attack much to Rogue's protest and came to, eventually, leave the X-Men to follow Magneto and his (more violent) path despite doing so meaning his leaving behind two people, Bobby and Rogue, who probably did care for him and regard him as a friend. Because of his dysfunctional home life, John has a hard time seeing his self-worth both through his own eyes and the eyes of others which makes him rather brash at times in his dealing with others and the decisions he makes.

He's also a bit cocky and a showoff in both grand and small ways. You could say he almost gets off on it as he seemed to be enjoying himself when he was torching and setting fire to multiple police cars when they threatened him and the others he was with. Or even when he thought to "teach a guy a lesson" when he stole his lighter from him and set fire to his arm with a wink of his eye, manipulating the fire within the cigarette the guy held. The way he tends to show off is usually in a cocky and don't fuck with me sort of way which, as you can imagine, often leads to him getting into trouble somehow.

Unfortunately, John can be a touch impressionable if around the wrong person. Being so desperate to be seen as someone who's worth something to someone else, it's easy to feed and stroke his ego in ones favor if they know exactly how to play into those insecurities of his. Magneto was able to do this in praising John for his mutation of fire manipulation and regarding him as a God Among Insects, instilling in John his importance that he's lacked to have and feel and, in a way, placing him on a sort of even playing field with him rather than making him feel as though he were beneath him. This slides into his having difficulty with authority as he would often feel "less than" around the X-Men (not letting him drive or coming along to help in rescuing others) and hate being told what to do as if it were "for his own good." Much like fire itself, John dislikes to be tamed and isn't afraid to burn anyone who tries to.

Despite his brash and at times selfish attitude, hard as it may seem to believe, he does make good with loyalty to those he trusts or follows. With the X-Men, he never quite felt he belonged there with being a troubled youth who wasn't so willing to play nice and seek peaceful options in dealing with humans. With Magneto, he saw him for his potential and what he was capable of and encouraged that violent method in showing the humans how much better he was than them. Regardless of whatever path he might be on, John keeps his loyalty to his fellow mutant brothers and sisters, even if they don't always agree on certain methods used or points of view held when it concerns those who look to them as a threat or different.

In the end, with being a mutant and "different" in the eyes of humans, John is easily capable of accepting others as they are without any issue or uncertainty. He's been viewed as and called things such as a freak, a mistake, an abomination- just to name a few and so he knows what it's like to feel out of place and unwanted. He does, however, become annoyed with those who choose to hide or pretend to be something or someone they're not and finds it weak and pathetic of a person to do so. He may understand their reasoning for it and know how cold the world and others can be to those who are different, but he still doesn't believe they should have to hide or live in shame.

Powers and Abilities:
pyrokinesis: the ability to manipulate fire.
heat immunity; cannot be burned or harmed from the effect of extreme heat or fire. He is essentially heat and fire proof.
energy sensing; despite his inability to create fire, Pyro is possibly aware of any usable fire in his psionic vicinity. Even if it's ashes or small sparks, Pyro can increase the intensity without having to look at the source. When Rogue was struggling to light a campfire, he was able to start it even though the sparks were too small for anyone to notice.
limitation; John is unable to create fire and is only capable of manipulating it. As such, he needs an external source (lighter, matches, embers, etc.) in order to use his power.
