his lighter is tucked inside his jacket pocket as he drops down from the step he'd been standing on, casually making his way on over to the curb there where jason and his bike are. pad of his thumb running across his bottom lip, he huffs a laugh as he comes up alongside the bike. ]
I don't know. Was waiting for this guy to pick me up. Supposed to take me out on a date or some shit.
[Jason smiles, really glad to see John waiting for him with a smile on his own face. he snags a helmet from the back of his bike, holding it out to John.]
Lucky guy. Too bad for him I got here first, though. Hope on and hold on tight.
[he doesn't usually have anyone to ride with, so this'll be nice.]
[ helmet in hand, he looks it over for a moment, rolling it between his hands as he looks jason over. you know, appreciating the view and all that. ]
Guess you're lucky I don't mind talking to strangers.
[ because apparently this is a thing they're doing. why not.
pulling the helmet over his head and taking a second to adjust it some, he gets himself on the back of the bike, holding to jason with a hand as he gets comfy. this should be interesting. ]
[Jason's appreciating the view too. he's appreciating all of it. he has a feeling this is gonna be a really good night.
he grins big, sliding his visor back down when John gets on and holds on to him. yeah, this is definitely nice. when John says he's ready, Jason takes off, speeding through Gotham to get to their destination.
Jason hopes John appreciates a fast and reckless ride, cause there pretty much the best part.]

admittedly, he's never taken a spin on a bike before, but it's not like he's scared of the speed jason decides to take them at. if anything, it's freeing, in a way, and when you're the sort of person who has a habit of running away from so much shit in your life — things, people, places — it's almost familiar, too. so what's there to be afraid of? ]
same here tho, end of school year is madness for me D:

he takes backroads and short cuts cause that's what he's used to, and then they end up by amusement mile, where the amusement park is in full swing. he parks his bike in a more secluded area, pulling his helmet off when he stops the bike. ]
[ there's a subtle sort of disappointment to be felt when the bike comes to a stop, but. all good things do come to an end, as john knows firsthand. when jason goes and takes his helmet off, he does the same, flicking his hair out of his face after. ]

[ that's a trick question because he likes to think he always looks good. ]
[Jason says as he looks over his shoulder at John, all the sincerity in his tone. John doesn't have to worry about the ride either, cause he'll get another one on their way back.]
Reach behind you into the compartment, there's a bag in there.
[A bottle of pretty damn decent vodka in a paper bag for them to share.]
[ amazing, he says. well. john can't deny that he likes that sort of answer and it shows in the way he half-grins at jason.
at the request to reach in behind him into that compartment, he raises a brow at first but, goes ahead and does it... and sort of just chuckles a bit when he takes a peek at what's inside. ]
Hey man, I told you. Amusement park with drinks. I did grab the fancy shit though.
[that's about as classy as Jason tends to get. but he's pretty sure John already knows that. neither of them need classy. what they're looking for is fun.]
