[ said with a bit of a chuckle as he does as asked and gets himself up off that warm lap. ]

[Jason touches John for as long as he can as he stands up, then he does the same, heading for the kitchen to put together their little treat.]

I even got marshmallows.

[ it's playfully said with a smile to match as he wanders his way off to their room where he's stashed jason's gift. ]

I almost got candy canes too, but they were all out.

[He pours in the alcohol, waiting for the milk to warm up so he can add the cocoa. It's gonna be good.]

[ coming back in with a brown paper bag, he lingers there for a moment before he huffs a laugh. ]

Just... don't think it's anything super amazing, ok?

[ Jason leaves the stuff on the stove for a moment when John comes back with the bag. ]

Listen... all I wanted for Christmas was you... so anything else is extra.

[ smiling some, he goes over to the stove with his paper bag and stands there, eyeing the pot a little. some part of him feels... weird about this. skittish, almost. like he shouldn't be so comfortable with all of this because he's just so used to not having this, but. he tries to ignore it. not let it get to him or sabotage what they have right now. ]

[ Jason knows the feeling. It's good. It's so good, and he's never had that before. He's never had it last this long. He can feel how different this is, though, and he wants to trust in that.

He grabs the small bag from the dresser and brings it back out. ]

[ He laughs, nodding as he sets the bag down for a minute to grab some mugs. He adds the cocoa and the alcohol and then pops the marshmallows in before he hands one to John and snags his bag again. ]

Okay, now we've got our celebratory drinks, we can exchange presents.

[He clinks his against John, but it's still too hot to drink, so he heads over to the little table they have set up to sit down so they can do this properly.]
